| YOYO MAIL RELAYING |
This help page contains the correct smtp settings for those who have previously used YoYo as their smtp mail server. It does not contain any information about what smtp mail is, or how to use it. If you want help regarding smtp and setting it up from home, have a look at the Computer Centre's Homenet documentation, as well as their help for Pmail and Eudora.
YoYo can no longer be used as a mail relay. If you are using POP/IMAP to read mail from your home computer dialed in on a Monash modem, make sure that your outgoing smtp server is set as
smtp.cc.monash.edu.au and not yoyo.cc.monash.edu.au.
If you are not sending mail from within Monash, contact your own service provider and ask them what you should use as your smtp server.
Yoyo will only accept and deliver mail that originates on YoYo, or terminates on YoYo. This was done to stop people from using YoYo as a relay in sending out spam mails.
If you have any questions about this, please email me.
