Past Shows

In the past we've performed everything from Shakespeare to, well, Shakespeare - both orthodox productions and re-workings - some recent productions being .......

May 2004 - 'Much Ado About Nothing'.  Directed by Penny Parsons-Lord and starring Aaron Richard as Benedick, the play is set in 1947, after World War 2.

July 2003 - 'As You Like It'.  Directed by Tony Jaeger and starring Aaron Richard as the beautiful, yet bearded, Rosalind and Tim Saunders as the beautiful, yet bald, Celia.

June 2002 - Shakespeare's Demons, an innovative, ensemble piece utilising a kaleidoscopic vocal sound scape and incorporating twelve of Shakespeare's most popular plays, performed entirely in the dark!

October 2001 - Twelfth Night in Paradise - original text, but set somewhere in suburban Melbourne.

May 2001 - A Winter's Tale in St Kilda, an ocker, irreverent, on ya luv, go the saints reinterpretation of one of the bard's bleakest works, performed both at Monash and also at Trades Hall, Carlton as part of the Melbourne Fringe.

October 2000 - Othello 2500 AD - A very different Othello and another in the long line (well, shortish line, but anyway) of the Shakespeare Society's gender-reversed shows.

September 1999 - The Tempest - Set in psychiatric ward 9B, where the patients create a mythical island in the confines of their combined dreamlike neuroses.

July 1998 - Hamlet the Dancing Pineapple - A traditional version of Hamlet based on the BBC production of the same name.
